Hiring in Los Angeles, CA (Relocation required)

Infinity Ward is looking for a talented Lead Build Engineer to join our development team working on Call of Duty!

The Build team at Infinity Ward is responsible for end-to-end workflows across multiple development branches. This team owns the orchestration and provisioning services needed to create, package, and test a massive amount of build artifacts, including support for multiple gaming platforms (PlayStation/Xbox/Nintendo/Windows). The role requires designing creative engineering solutions to optimize performance, throttle throughput, and scale capacity for a massive CI/CD pipeline. Regular engagement with engineering, design, production, and art departments is expected to understand toolchain dependencies and optimize systems.

Player Profile / Responsibilities:

  • Gather and prioritize requirements from engineers, content creators, and designers to increase workflow efficiency.
  • Lead a team in the development of a game project.
  • Design and develop services, tools, and workflows across the end-to-end build pipeline, focusing on availability, predictability, and performance.
  • Find and solve challenging problems across an ecosystem of cross-studio services and processes.
  • Promote collaboration within and across team boundaries; mentor, educate, and support colleagues.
  • Advocate best practices for code health, testing, and maintainability.
  • Define metrics and systems for observing, evaluating, and optimizing business processes.
  • Maintain and evolve infrastructure needed to scale studio services such as Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, Distribution, and Caching systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience within CI/CD pipelines operating at enterprise scale.
  • Experience leading and managing a team.
  • Proficiency in Python, or a comparable scripting language.
  • Experience with distributed build and version control systems; in-depth understanding of modern design patterns (e.g., REST interaction with backend services); strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience managing/scaling datacenter capacity (VMs, game consoles, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization technology (Docker).
  • Experience leveraging cloud hosting platforms (Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with game or media development.

Bonus Points:

  • Passion for test automation frameworks.
  • Background in C/C++ and/or C#.
  • Experience with platform-specific content packaging processes (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, etc.).

Compensation:

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is 121,500.00 - 224,880.00 Annual (USD). These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Specific offers will be based on factors including experience, performance, and work location. Employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation; incentive compensation is not guaranteed. New hire compensation is negotiable.
