Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior Cinematic Animator to join the development of our next AAA title—an Open World RPG set in a new, epic IP. Feed your creativity while driving the development of our game’s world and story. Collaborate with our highly skilled team to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining.

As a Senior Cinematic Animator, you will become part of a tight-knit team that prides itself on cinematic animations that are complex and believable. You will contribute to animation tasks integral to various cinematic assets that enhance storytelling and enrich the player's experience. Successful completion of your responsibilities will involve collaborating effectively with multiple production disciplines, including Design, Narrative, and Art, to collectively deliver best in class visual and narrative assets for the game.

You’ll help us by…:

  • Use a combination of Motion Capture and Key Framing to craft in-game cinematics, 3rd person vignettes or other narratively driven content.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of camera animation and cinematic framing, as well as shot continuity and facial animation.
  • Respond well to feedback and be willing to iterate multiple times to achieve the polish level required for AAA titles.
  • Work with multiple disciplines and departments to achieve unified goals.
  • Troubleshoot tool implementations and suggest workflow improvements to increase team efficiency and creativity.
  • Utilize experience to act creatively and independently, requiring limited instruction.

You’re awesome because you have…:

  • 7+ years professional animation experience (or some combination of applicable training and experience) within games, cinematics or movies.
  • 1 or more shipped AAA game title credit.
  • A passion for storytelling.
  • Knowledge of cinematic and motion capture editing and cleanup.
  • Strong animation fundamentals with a focus on human movement (timing, weight, balance).
  • Knowledge of how cameras and lenses work.
  • A great showreel that showcases passion for cinematics and storytelling.
  • Ability to adapt to new tools and tech.
  • Fluent in Maya and MotionBuilder.
  • Strong technical and cross-department problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor other animators.

Bonus points for…:

  • An understanding of character creation.
  • An interest in mocap shoots to help clarify tone, choreography, and pacing for actors.
  • Major recognition in your field of work.
  • Familiarity with major RPGs released in the last decade.
