As a Cinematic Lighting Artist at CIG, you will be joining a team responsible for lighting all the amazing characters in our action-packed cinematic story campaign “Squadron 42” with its star-studded cast including Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson, John Rhys-Davies, and Mark Strong (to name just a few).

Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting-edge videogames that defy expectations. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. What does a Cinematic Lighting Artist at CIG do?

• Integrate cinematics and lighting into the gameplay experience seamlessly.

• Working closely with the lighting team to support the cinematics team in developing and enhancing their cinematics.

• Create believable and cinematic lighting scenarios for all locations in the game.

• Collaborate with other departments to help create the best experience possible.

What do we expect from our Cinematic Lighting Artists?

• Strong sense of mood, atmosphere, and storytelling through lighting and camera work.

• Optimise, debug and troubleshoot for performance while maintaining artistic quality across locations.

• Create dynamic and realistic lighting setups to elevate the visual quality and mood of the game.

• An understanding and knowledge of the Realworld setups in film and character lighting.
