Job Description

With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games. As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Language Manager (German) to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.

This role is awarded as a 2 year Fixed Term Contract.

Responsibilities

  • Own the quality of the German translations
  • Translate in-game text, voice scripts, marketing and PR content as required to support products and services through development, launch and beyond
  • Create and maintain translation memories, glossaries, and style guides
  • Provide cultural and creative input regarding the localization of Larian products into the target region
  • Maintain awareness of the games industry in the target market and communicate trends to relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders to resolve questions or conflicts related to terminology, language quality and workflow
  • Playtest to confirm in-game text context for accurate translation
  • Collaborate with external localization vendors to improve language quality

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience or more localizing video games
  • Strong writing and editing skills in German
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience localizing time-delimited dialogues
  • Experience with CAT Tools; memoQ is a plus

Nice to Haves

  • At least one AAA game shipped
  • Experience with voice acting casting
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA
