Your life at Ubi — Job Description:

As Lead PvP Designer at Ubisoft Bucharest, you will contribute to the success of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. You will be reporting directly to the Game Director, and you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best teams in the industry.

As Lead PvP Designer you will be responsible for making the competitive experiences fun-to-play, rewarding and balanced for our players. Working as part of the core team, you will be championing the PvP design and activities for the base game, shaping its future ambitions while ensuring the quality of every season.

You will have a pivotal role in the development of future game updates, defining how the game’s competitive modes will evolve, to increase engagement of our players and deliver fun, memorable experiences.

You will ensure that game systems properly convey the creative vision and be competitive play’s biggest champion on the team.

Your main mission:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Producer, Creative Director and Game Director in order to define, structure and manage the PvP game design direction and the ambition for both long term plans and the scope of each release.
  • Leverage your knowledge of PvP design to create a healthy, balanced and competitive experience for our players.
  • Script and implement new pieces of gear and talents.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary environment to create new maps and game modes.
  • Participate in playtests, analyze results and propose changes based on internal data.
  • Work alongside the data analytics team to understand, tweak and improve designs based on real world data.
  • Act as a mentor for the design team.
  • Champion the player experience at every stage of development, ensuring gameplay remains fun, rewarding and fresh through ongoing support and content updates.

Qualifications:

The professional value you bring:

  • Extended professional game design experience.
  • Familiarity with live service game design, including content pipelines, seasonal events and time limited challenges.
  • Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams in aligning goals and delivering content from initial concept through launch.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with game balance in a PvP setting.
  • Proven experience in data manipulation and Visual Scripting tools.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities independently, demonstrating strong ownership and accountability.
  • Experience designing game modes within a competitive environment.
  • Strong documentation practices that clearly communicate design intent and build alignment.

Nice to Have:

  • Proven experience in similar or leadership roles.
  • Experience working on 3rd person action games.
  • Active player of a variety of competitive titles, especially shooters.
  • Experience and knowledge of The Division franchise (SHD 100+).
