Your Mission

As a Sr. Manager, Accounting, you will play a critical role in the Activision Blizzard controllership as well as the worldwide Finance Team. You will oversee timely and accurate accounting close processes and provide governance and subject matter expertise through our business process outsourcing model, ensuring alignment with internal policies and performance standards. You'll provide thought leadership, guiding successful execution of accounting and financial reporting processes, engaging with stakeholders across ABK.

Overall responsibilities include governance and compliance, issue resolution and support, compliance and reporting, process improvement and optimization, and ensuring alignment with US GAAP and global accounting policies within your areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and reviewer supporting outsourced vendor teams responsible for accounting activities, including validating financial close journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, analytical reviews, and other reporting deliverables.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLA metrics to assess performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Research, review, and document accounting standards, guidelines, and policies; field complex questions from business partners.
  • Perform in-depth P&L and balance sheet analysis and respond to inquiries from business and finance partners regarding actual financial performance.
  • Provide escalated support and troubleshooting to users; investigate and resolve business partner inquiries, accounting deviations, and other data anomalies.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Accounting team to ensure consistent accounting practices across regions.
  • Partner with Internal Audit (IA) and SOX teams to ensure robust controls for accounting processes.
  • Lead global initiatives to standardize, optimize, and automate accounting processes.
  • Act as a team lead for critical accounting systems, supporting internal teams and external vendors.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 7+ years accounting or finance experience.
  • Extensive experience in accounting close and financial reporting.
  • Proven track record in project management, delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
  • Experience working with international teams and strong background in technical accounting is highly desirable.
  • CPA preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle, OBIEE Answers, and/or SmartView is a plus.

Compensation

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $105,120.00 - $194,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Specific offers will be based on experience, performance, and work location. Employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation (not guaranteed).
