Position:

Living World Designer (Regular/Senior, Fix-Term Contract)

Company: Fool’s Theory, a company from Bielsko-Biała in Poland, creators of the games Seven: The Days Long Gone and The Thaumaturge. The role is for a project developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED.

Salary: 11 600 - 19 500 PLN Gross/Monthly

About the job:

We are actively seeking skilled individuals to join our team to work on a project developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and maintaining design documentation.
  • Creating narrative content - from concept through design and implementation.
  • Designing living world activities.
  • Implementing previously created designs in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Iterating on implemented content and activities to deliver the highest possible quality.
  • Populating the world with lootables, monsters, critters and communities.
  • Writing documentation for additional game mechanics and systems.
  • Working with other departments: Narrative, Level Design, Gameplay.
  • Cooperating with Art departments when needed.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a similar position in the video game industry, with at least one published AA or AAA title.
  • A deep understanding of interactive storytelling.
  • Excellent proficiency with visual scripting tools.
  • Good communication skills and eagerness to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • The ability to receive and respond to constructive feedback.
  • Imagination, creativity, and the ability to transfer them into the game.
  • Independence in performing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise.
  • Ability to work in a structured and organised manner.
  • Fluent English.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine and Blueprint scripting.
  • Previous experience as a Quest or Narrative Designer.
  • Experience in running RPG sessions and playing open world games.
  • An analytical approach to games.
  • Good knowledge of the Witcher lore.
