We are Fool’s Theory, a company from Bielsko-Biała in Poland, creators of the game Seven: The Days Long Gone and The Thaumaturge!

Right now, we’re starting production on our own new project, something different from what Fool’s Theory has done so far. It’s an exciting opportunity to join us at the very start, help shape its direction, and have a real influence on what it will become.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement game features and mechanics.
  • Work closely with the team to communicate the game’s vision and ensure alignment across the team.
  • Collaborate with the Project Lead to shape the backlog and planning.
  • Work closely with the Art Director to maintain artistic consistency and contribute to the Art Bible.
  • Maintain game balance directly within the engine.
  • Working on level designs (within the engine).

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Game Designer (participated in the production from start to game release).
  • At least 4 years of experience as a game designer or in a similar role.
  • Experience in Unreal Engine (level design or scripting experience)
  • Strong communication skills: ability to clearly and effectively present ideas and inspire the team.
  • Ability to maintain a strong vision for the game and communicate it clearly to others.
  • Confident in decision-making with clear and solid reasoning.
  • Open-minded and receptive to feedback from others.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability for refining gameplay mechanics.
  • Comfortable with data analysis and using tools like Excel to simulate game balance and break down features.
  • Ability to clearly convey constructive feedback

Nice to have

  • Experience in designing co-op or multiplayer games.
