Do you want to help develop the next generation of Futuregames' super talented students? We are currently looking for a new Head Teacher (80%) for the GAME PROGRAMMER education at our site in Warsaw.

Futuregames is one of the leading game schools in Sweden and internationally. The school offers education at six different locations in Sweden: Stockholm, Skellefteå, Karlstad, Malmö, Umeå, Boden, and one in Poland - Warsaw.

For almost 20 years, the school has focused on four key areas: game art, game design, virtual reality (VR/XR/AR/MR), and game programming. Today, 15% of the Swedish gaming industry consists of our former students. In Warsaw, Futuregames operates in Strategic Partnership with CD PROJEKT. School is located in studio campus on 74 Jagiellońska Str. (Praga Polnoc district).

Futuregames Warsaw is seeking a Head Teacher (80%) for our GAME PROGRAMMER education in Warsaw.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teach and mentor students within the program

  • Develop and improve teaching materials

  • Administer and coordinate student-related activities

  • Plan and ensure the quality of your classes in accordance with our standards that follow regulations of the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the development of our school internationally

  • Actively contribute to the continued development and growth of Futuregames' vocational education

Your main goal is to ensure that students are in demand within the industry their education leads to! We act and work as advocates for our students on the competitive market.

To succeed in this role, you need to be results- and collaboration-oriented. You should have strong pedagogical skills and be able to inspire and engage students in learning based on their different needs, with the ability to vary your teaching methods. Furthermore, you should easily build trust with students. You value close collaboration with colleagues and are receptive to others' knowledge, always striving to develop your teaching and participate in collegial learning. Strong responsibility and good administrative skills are essential, as well as the ability to prioritize and make decisions effortlessly. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a solution-oriented approach are also valuable traits. You should be good at building and maintaining relationships, customer-focused with a strong emphasis on quality. You are comfortable speaking in front of larger groups and enjoy a varied work environment where no day is the same. You need to be comfortable in various digital environments and have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new systems.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant higher education or equivalent experience

  • High digital competence, especially within Office365, and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems

  • Strong ability to express yourself clearly and simply in spoken and written English

  • Good communication skills and a talent for networking, both internally and externally

  • You have a coaching approach with an interest in adult learning and skills development

  • Professional experience: Game programmer or similar

  • Experience in creating and delivering content to students

  • Collaboration is a natural guiding principle for you

  • Strong sense of responsibility and good administrative skills

  • You easily adapt to changing circumstances and focus on the right things

Meritorious:

  • Previous experience in higher vocational education

  • Pedagogical training or experience

  • A network and experience within the "gaming industry"

  • Worked at an AA to AAA Game Studio or Indie Game Studio

Additional Information:

  • This position is a permanent employment at 80%. The position includes an initial probationary period of six months. After that, there are very good opportunities for permanent employment.

  • Start date: September 2, 2024, or by agreement

  • Location: Warsaw, 74 Jagiellońska Str, 03-301, building B
