INTERNSHIPS AT GUERRILLA:

At Guerrilla, we’re a passionate team of creators, storytellers, and innovators who thrive on breaking boundaries and creating adventures that captivate players.

As an intern at Guerrilla, you will immerse yourself in the world of game development. From collaborating with industry leaders to working on cutting-edge projects, you’ll gain hands-on experience in various aspects of game creation.

OUR USER RESEARCH TEAM:

The User Research team at Guerrilla works alongside Analytics to uncover how players experience our worlds — from the early stages of development to the final missions. We collaborate closely with Design, Production, and QA to make sure our titles feel intuitive, engaging, and rewarding to play.

Within the team, we value curiosity, empathy, and creative problem-solving, and we thrive in a highly collaborative environment where every voice contributes.

As an intern, you’ll join a group that is genuinely passionate about player insights and how they can shape smarter, more thoughtful design decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a User Research Intern, you’ll support the planning and execution of player research studies that inform design and development decisions. You will:

  • Recruit participants, help define appropriate research methodologies, and prepare lab setups for testing.
  • Observe gameplay sessions, take structured notes, and capture both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Develop and refine questionnaires, surveys, and interview guides based on test goals.
  • Analyze and summarize findings, creating clear reports and presentations for development teams using PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Collaborate with the User Research and Design teams to continuously improve our testing processes and player experience.

WHO YOU ARE:

In order to qualify for an internship at Guerrilla, you must be:

  • Currently enrolled in a Dutch school within a relevant field of study.
  • Able to work on-site in our Amsterdam studio.
  • Available for an internship during the first half of 2026.

Additionally, we’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Currently working toward a BS, MS, or PhD degree in research disciplines that study how people think, play, and interact — such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to summarize and present findings clearly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Sheets for developing reports, organizing data, and visualizing results.
  • A passion for video games, including an interest in game design theory and how design decisions shape player experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with user-centered research methods (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing).

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience using video capture software (e.g., OBS) or eye-tracking tools.
  • Understanding of quantitative research or exposure to analytics software (e.g., Tableau, R).
  • Familiarity with journey mapping, heuristic evaluation, or other player-experience research approaches.

INTERESTED?:

If you think you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you! You can apply by hitting the “Apply Now” button. Be sure to submit your CV, cover letter, and any examples of relevant work.

The deadline for application submission is 14th November.
