We are Mighty Koi Studio, located in the center of Warsaw.
We’re actively working on an extremely ambitious title set within an established IP.
"Thorgal" is a third-person action-adventure game with RPG elements inspired by Norse mythology and is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. We aim to create an intense emotional journey that will test Thorgal’s character and in particular challenge his moral values while paying homage to Thorgal’s rich lore and gallery of memorable characters.
We are looking for a Lead Game Designer who will join us!

Responsibilities:
Work hand in hand with the Creative Director to design and iterate on the core game mechanics and systems (Moment to moment, Progression, AI, World Systems etc.) + player interactions that will support the game vision and deliver a compelling game experience for the Thorgal game.
Work hand in hand with Creative Director and Lead Level Designer to ensure levels support the design philosophy of the Thorgal game and each propose a playground that makes use and magnifies its core mechanics.
Create and iterate on game prototypes and design documents to communicate and refine the game concept.
Oversee the implementation of design features and content, ensuring quality and coherence with the overall vision.
Lead playtesting and conduct user feedback sessions to gather insights to adjust designs and improve the game experience.
Lead and mentor the game design team, providing guidance and feedback throughout the development process.
Collaborate with other departments (such as art, programming, and sound) to ensure alignment of design elements with technical capabilities and project objectives.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform design decisions and innovations.
Required Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience in game design, preferably in a senior or lead designer position, with a proven track record of successful projects.
Must have shipped at least one Action Adventure or Stealth title.
Proficiency in game design tools and software (such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar). including proficiency in blueprint scripting. C++ Programming experience is a plus.
Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Deep understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and game development processes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and provide constructive feedback.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, risk taker and a solution oriented mindset.
Degree in game development, art, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proficient English skills.
