Job Description / Description du poste:

Main Goal of the Role / Objectif principal du rôle:

Create and oversee the production of high-quality 3D characters that meet People Can Fly’s artistic and technical standards. You will play a key role collaborating with internal and external teams to bring memorable characters to life, ensuring consistency and quality throughout the production pipeline.

Vous jouerez un rôle clé en collaborant avec les équipes internes et externes afin de donner vie à des personnages mémorables, tout en garantissant la cohérence et la qualité tout au long du processus de production.

Responsibilities / Responsabilités:

  • Create industry-leading, high-quality 3D characters that balance visual fidelity with performance and gameplay needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Art Directors and Leads to define and drive artistic vision across projects.
  • Mentor and support both internal and external character artists, providing thoughtful, actionable feedback.
  • Work with Outsourcing and Production to plan, track, and integrate character assets on schedule.
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of all character content, ensuring alignment with PCF’s artistic standards.
  • Contribute to documentation, tutorials, and best practices that elevate the team’s collective craft.
  • Research and adopt new techniques and workflows to continually push the quality of character art.
  • Integrate assets directly into the engine and collaborate on resolving technical or artistic challenges.

Qualifications / Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a 3D Character Artist in the game industry.
  • Experience shipping at least one AAA title from start to finish.
  • Strong traditional art foundation — anatomy, proportion, composition, color theory.
  • Advanced proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance Painter/Designer (experience with Mari, Houdini, Unreal, or Unity is a plus).
  • Solid understanding of game production workflows, including high-/low-poly modeling, PBR materials, UV layouts, and optimization.
  • Ability to solve complex artistic and technical challenges collaboratively and independently.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Genuine passion for great games, continuous learning, and creative excellence.
