We’re looking for a Technical Director with a solid production background and a proven track record on at least 2 shipped titles with high-impact on the market. The Technical Director assesses sales opportunities and owns the delivery, technical execution, and health of engineering teams across active game projects, ensuring technical feasibility and long-lasting partnerships.
You will be the key stakeholder for engineering deliverables, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure high quality standards and production efficiency.
This role requires both technical background and production expertise, with a focus on presentation and communication skills. This position reports directly to the Engineering Department Head.
Key Responsibilities
- Represents the Company in customer calls and on-sites
- Works with current and prospective clients on every engineering aspect of our engagements, across multiple disciplines
- Participates in the bid proposal process, helping select the best engineers for new projects across various areas
- Contributes and validates technical design documents and briefs
- Proposes and supports best practices, promotes standards and relevant tools
- Provides necessary hands-on support and guidance for project assessment, new project kick-offs, and technological strategy
- Oversees and manages project-specific risks and proposes mitigations
- Involved directly in hiring and interviewing senior candidates and leads
- Mentors and guides developers about technology choices, implementation or design approaches, and architecture decisions
- Represents the company at industry events as an ambassador with potential new partners
- Collaborates with Talent Management on career development and growth planning for engineers
- Partners with Product and Creative teams on project planning and scoping
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience in commercial game development across PC, console, or mobile platforms
- Has led or significantly contributed to the development of at least two high-impact games (AA or AAA), or a top-performing indie or mobile title
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience in game development
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (ideally C/C++, C#)
- Expert knowledge in at least one game development domain (e.g., UI, Gameplay, Rendering, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of game development pipelines, frameworks, and engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity)
- Highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Experienced in building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Excellent understanding of major project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, FDD)
- Strong understanding of Art and Production workflows within game development
- Experience in teaching and mentoring Senior Engineers
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Willing and able to travel globally, including extended visits to our studios during critical development and delivery phases
- Open to relocation or frequent travels to Poland or Malta (permanent presence preferred)
