Job Description:

As a UX/UI Director, you will define and drive the vision for intuitive, engaging, and visually striking user experiences for our AAA live-service game. You will be the creative force behind establishing a clear UX strategy, a compelling UI style, and a strong visual signature that ensures seamless interaction, aesthetic consistency, and emotional impact across the game and its brand ecosystem.

Leading a team of UX Designers and UI Artists, you will ensure design excellence, champion usability, and foster creative collaboration across disciplines to deliver best-in-class presentation that resonates with players worldwide.

Responsibilities:

Vision & Direction:

  • Refine the UX/UI strategy and visual identity of the game, ensuring it aligns with the broader creative, art, and brand directions.
  • Act as a champion for UX/UI excellence across the studio and regional teams, establishing presentation standards and creative benchmarks.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of the game’s menus, HUD, navigation flows, interface FX, and presentation guidelines.

Design Leadership:

  • Lead the conceptualization and direction of the UI and graphic design look & feel, ensuring a consistent and scalable UX/UI framework.
  • Drive innovation in interaction design, accessibility, and usability, embedding a player-first mindset into all workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with Game Directors, Art Directors, Audio Directors, and Brand teams to unify design vision across all touchpoints.

Execution & Collaboration:

  • Guide the design, iteration, and validation of UX flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, leveraging tools such as Figma.
  • Partner with UI Artists and Programmers to ensure designs are faithfully translated into the game engine (Unity, Unreal or proprietary).
  • Address playtest and user research feedback, translating insights into actionable improvements to enhance usability and emotional impact.

Visual Signature & Brand Integration:

  • Define and safeguard the game’s presentation signature across gameplay, marketing, and brand assets (trailers, screenshots, merchandise, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal and external brand teams to ensure maximum consistency between game identity and consumer-facing assets.
  • Supervise the creation of style guides, templates, and communication frameworks to align all creative contributors.

Team & Talent Development:

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of UX Designers, UI Artists, and Visual Designers, fostering long-term career development.
  • Promote cross-team knowledge sharing, establishing best practices in UX, UI, and visual design.
  • Inspire the team with clear goals, actionable feedback, and a culture of creativity, efficiency, and excellence.

Qualifications:

Experience & Expertise:

  • 8-12 years of proven experience in UX/UI design and direction for AAA or AA games, ideally on a Live Service game.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user experience, interface design, visual storytelling, and brand integration.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality UX/UI solutions in collaboration with cross-functional creative teams.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of UX principles, usability, accessibility, and player psychology.
  • Strong knowledge of UI art tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Figma, XD) and familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal).
  • Ability to set and communicate a clear artistic direction, critique effectively, and raise the quality bar across the team.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics, visual communication, and interactive media trends.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing creative teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to align stakeholders and inspire collaborators.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a results-driven mindset.

Your Personality:

  • Creative, self-motivated, strong work ethics, and a good team player.
  • A passion for making and playing games.

Bonus:

  • Experience contributing to brand guidelines or marketing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with modern AAA game design principles, mechanics, and market expectations.
