As a 2D Character Artist at Wooga you will work closely with designers, engineers, product managers, producers, writers and other artists to create visually stunning game characters for Wooga’s hit game June's Journey. You will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of game development, with access to our proprietary AI toolset and trainings on it.

About the role:

• Ensure high-quality, photorealistic character designs with accurate anatomy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with writers and peers from the character team to create a compelling cast for new storylines of June’s Journey, capturing personality, history and emotion.
• Create convincing character poses and expressions and set them up in animation-ready files.
• Create illustrations of compelling story moments with the game’s characters.
• Maintain consistency with the established art style while infusing creativity and freshness.
• Collaborate with the team in maintaining and updating documentation.
• Utilize Wooga's in-house AI technology as a finishing tool to bring artist-driven concepts to a final, polished state more efficiently.

About you:

• Strong portfolio of realistic character designs with accurate anatomy and a great sense of costume design; ability to create a photorealistic/believable look.
• Strong understanding of scale, proportion, human anatomy, surface properties, and the distribution and purpose of detail.
• Excellent rendering and design skills with the ability to adapt to established styles.
• Ability to apply colour theory to evoke mood and character appeal.
• Proficient digital illustration skills with an advanced understanding of Photoshop.
• Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives and ensure alignment across departments.
• Can provide respectful and actionable feedback to colleagues and welcome constructive feedback.
