What we expect — Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product owners, developers, and QA management to understand acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage.
- Assist in creating test strategies and test plans for features in a fast-paced, user-centric environment.
- Conduct compatibility testing on different hardware setups, GPU/driver versions, and OS builds.
- Execute performance benchmarking, including FPS, load times, memory usage (especially for Steam Deck).
- Test across input methods (mouse/keyboard, controllers, Steam Deck controls) to ensure consistent player experience.
- Identify, analyze, and solve issues found during testing (with guidance).
- Help track and report on game quality; analyze root causes and suggest improvements.
- Stay updated with testing methodologies, best practices, and tools; assist in evaluating and improving testing processes and tools.
Required / Must have:
- At least 3 years of experience in game QA testing, with direct experience testing for PC platforms (Windows, Linux) and ideally Steam Deck.
- Strong knowledge of PC hardware components, drivers, and performance profiling tools.
- Experience with compatibility testing across varying hardware setups and OS versions.
- Familiarity with Steam platform (including Steam Deck OS, Proton, and Steam Deck Verified Guidelines).
- Proficiency in using bug-tracking tools (Jira, Han soft, Mantis, etc.).
- Understanding QA methodologies, testing lifecycles, and regression testing.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for games with an analytical mindset and focus on player experience.
Nice to have / You might have:
- Experience with automated testing tools and scripting.
- Experience with game performance benchmarking and telemetry (e.g., MSI Afterburner, Fraps, or equivalent).
- Exposure to multiplayer/network testing environments.
- Experience with certification/submission processes (Steam, console platforms).
- Availability for at least 3 hours between 9 AM and 7 PM Beijing Time.
