Role summary: Drive superior game quality and immersive experiences through efficient testing as a PC Game Tester focused on compatibility, stability, and performance for PC and Steam Deck platforms. This is a part-time, remote position.

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Quality Assurance Tester to ensure an exceptional gameplay experience across PC and Steam Deck platforms. The role focuses on validating compatibility, stability, and performance for a game in the horde-survival/roguelike genre. The ideal candidate has strong QA skills and a genuine passion for games such as Hordes of Fate, Vampire Survivors, 20 Minutes till Dawn, Halls of Torment, or similar action-survivor roguelikes.

What we expect / Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with product owners, developers, and QA management to understand acceptance criteria, identify risks, and assist in planning testing coverage.
2. Assist in the creation of test strategies and test plans for features and releases.
3. Conduct compatibility testing on different hardware setups, GPU/driver versions, and operating system builds.
4. Execute performance benchmarking, including FPS, load times, and memory usage (especially for Steam Deck).
5. Test across input methods (mouse/keyboard, controllers, Steam Deck controls).
6. With guidance, identify, analyze, and solve issues found during testing.
7. Help track and report on game quality and analyze where quality issues come from.
8. Stay updated with testing methodologies, best practices, and tools; assist in evaluating and improving testing processes and tools.

Must have / Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in game QA testing, with direct experience testing for PC platforms (Windows, Linux) and ideally Steam Deck.
• Strong knowledge of PC hardware components, drivers, and performance profiling tools.
• Experience with compatibility testing across varying hardware setups and OS versions.
• Familiarity with the Steam platform (including Steam Deck OS, Proton, and Steam Deck Verified Guidelines).
• Proficiency in using bug-tracking tools (Jira, Han soft, Mantis, etc.).
• Understanding of QA methodologies, testing lifecycles, and regression testing.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for games with an analytical mindset and a focus on player experience.

Nice to have:

• Experience with automated testing tools and scripting.
• Experience with game performance benchmarking and telemetry (e.g., MSI Afterburner, Fraps, or equivalent).
• Exposure to multiplayer/network testing environments.
• Experience with certification/submission processes (Steam, console platforms).
• Availability for at least 3 hours between 9 AM and 7 PM Beijing Time.
