Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is currently looking for a talented Asset Artist that specialises in the creation of rocks, terrain and other geological assets. You will join the Environment Art team on a one-year contract. As a Asset Artist, you will contribute to creating a library of realistic rock, rock formation, mountains and landscape geological phenomena. You will be working with scans and also required to model/sculpt formations from scratch when needed.
Daily responsibilities
Create photorealistic geological phenomena for different uses in a variety of tools. Utilising a good understanding of physically based rendering, art direction, player guidance and metrics.
Participate in the creation of plans and concepts for locations and assets.
Cooperate with our Art Directors and Art Leads to push the quality of your rocks and landscape assets, while maintaining artistic consistency and game vision.
Collaborate directly with the Environment artists involved in using the library of prepared assets.
Collaborate with Technical artists and texture artists to prepare material and shader templates.
Maintain the production pipeline and help achieve the project's visual quality and performance goals.
Qualifications
At least 3 years of relevant industry experience and one shipped AAA title.
Experience in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent.
Strong skills in one of the leading modelling packages (Blender, 3DS Max, Maya, etc.).
Strong skills in Zbrush.
Good knowledge of colour theory and lighting techniques.
Good photogrammetry knowledge and ability to work from already made scans.
Strong understanding of physically based rendering practices (PBR).
Good knowledge of shaders and supporting texture maps.
Self-motivated, proactive and dedicated to improving your work.
Ability to estimate workload and manage deadlines.
Creativity and an eye for detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Fluent English.
Passion for games.
Additional Information
For this role you can choose between a remote-first or office-first working mode.
Office-First: working primarily from the Warsaw, Wroclaw, or Cracow office for a minimum of 10 days per month.
Remote-First: working from home, or from any location that is within 3 hours away of the UTC +2 time zone.
