NEXT EPISODE - a new AAA studio led by the director and visionary behind Dying Light and the creative director of Diablo 4 and The Witcher 3. We are starting out with a strong talent base, stable funding and a clear vision.
We are building a First-Person, Open World Action game set in an original universe that blends Science Fiction with Post-Apocalypse. A universe where the catastrophe is not just set dressing, but the foundation of the gameplay. We are working on mechanics that break the conventions of the genre. We will share the details during the interview.
We are looking for people who combine creativity and a willingness to experiment with solid craft and hands-on experience in AAA / AA+ production.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a 3D Artist / Environment Artist / Prop Artist in the game industry
- Experience working on at least one released AAA/AA+ title
- Very good understanding of the full 3D game asset creation process — from modeling to final implementation in the game engine
- Very good knowledge of modeling and texturing tools such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter / Designer
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine and practical experience implementing assets in the engine
- Understanding of PBR principles, optimization, LODs, materials, texel density, and the technical constraints of real-time production
- Ability to work with references and translate an artistic direction into concrete assets
- Excellent sense of scale, proportions, materials, detail, and object composition within a game environment
- Ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, and ownership of the quality of delivered assets
- A portfolio demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship, workflow/process, and experience creating game assets
Responsibilities:
- Creating high-quality 3D assets for an AAA game — props, environment elements, architecture, modular assets, and hero assets
- High-poly and low-poly modeling, UV preparation, baking, and texturing following a PBR pipeline
- Implementing and optimizing assets in Unreal Engine
- Contributing to the visual quality of the game's post-apocalyptic world — from individual objects to larger environment sets
- Working closely with the Art Director, Level Designers, Technical Artists, and Game Design team
- Maintaining consistency in style, scale, materials, and detail visible from an FPP perspective
- Creating assets with performance, modularity, and reusability in an open-world environment in mind
- Providing feedback to less experienced team members and supporting the quality standards of the art department
Nice to Have:
- Experience working on FPP, open-world games, or projects with a strong focus on environmental exploration
- Experience creating assets for realistic or semi-realistic worlds
- Knowledge of modular environment pipelines, trim sheets, texture atlases, vertex painting, and environment set creation
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5, Nanite, Lumen, or modern environment art pipelines
- Experience working with photogrammetry, 3D scans, or material libraries
- Basic knowledge of Houdini or other procedural tools
What we offer:
- Clear, consistent vision for the project and a well-structured production process
- Real impact on the direction and shape of the title from an early stage of development
- On-site cooperation in Wrocław
- Relocation package
